Majestic Wins roaring with more than double profits
This quarter Majestic Wine is witnessing an 117pc rise in its pre-tax profits bolstered by the robust sales of wines which costs more than £20 a bottle. Profits plunged to a £16m in the year till the end of March, up from £7.4m in the same period since last year.
Majestic shares jumped 4.6pc in early trading. According to the company statements the total sales inclined up to 15.6pc to £233.2m, with accordance to the sales of fine wines coming in the range of £20 a bottle or more then rising 22.7pc and presenting the 5pc of UK store sales.
Fuller registers record for profits in beer sales
London's pride, the brewing and pub group Fuller, Smith & Turner, has a soaring figure in its profits up by a 17 per cent with strong sales.
The 165-year-old legend of London made a pre-tax profits, up by 17 per cent to £26.6m in this year till 27 March, the total revenues plunged by 8 per cent to £227.7m. The sales of pubs and hotels rose by 2.7 per cent over the year. Further to comment the Fuller's Beer Company had an exceptional year with a 7 per cent increase in operating profits.
Brown-Forman's Q4 results hit by high costs
Brown-Forman, the liquor company said that its results during the fourth quarter were lowered because of the high expenses that it had to face during this time.
It also said that sales too have declined during the period, putting heavy pressure on the financials. The bars and the restaurants, places through which maximum of the sales take place, watered down the brand Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey.
Income of the company fell down by 9 per cent during the period.
Land Rover files 42% jump in May car sales
While it has been facing a lot of issues maintaining the growth momentum, but the Tata group firm Land Rover recently said that the company has been able to take up its total sales by 42.3 per cent in the month of May this year.
The company also mentioned the fact that it has sold close to 15,181 units that is more than 40% up as compared to the level it achieved in the same month last year.
McDonald's Posts Remarkable Rise in Sales in May
Surpassing the expectations of the analysts, McDonald's Corp. has reported a 4.8% surge in the sale store sales in May. It said that it has been estimating its rates for foreign-exchange to affect its yearly income.
It added that, as per the predictions, the rates are going to affect the income in the second quarter. Nearly 25% of the Company's stakes are owned by the euro zone giants.
The food chain giant shared that its overall sales at all of its units across the world have jumped by 5.5% in May.
Dollar General Reports 64% Increase in Revenue
Dollar General Corp.'s financial first-quarter earnings leaped 64% as the discount seller said that that buyer traffic and expenses sustained to rise.
The results surpass analysts' predictions and the corporation increased its profits goal for the year to $1.62 to $1.69 per share from $1.55 to $1.63.

Honda witnesses another fall
Dealing with factors like the ageing portfolio and rising competition, Honda SIEL has witnessed another dip in its monthly unit sales in the Indian market.
Notably, the company sold close to 4,067 units during the month of May 2010 which is marginally down as compared to the 4,073 units that the company sold during the corresponding month last year.

Skoda India files a 30% growth for May
According the ales figures issued by the company, SkodaAuto India, a fully owned subsidiary of SkodaAuto a.s., Czech Republic has been able to file a 30% growth for the month of May in the Indian market.
While the total sales for May 2010 stood at 1381 units against 1062 units in May 2009, the company filed an over 70% growth for the calendar year 2010 so far. It may be noted here that the company has sold close to 8176 units from January to May 2010 as against 4695 units for the same period last year.
Hyundai's domestic sales up 16% in May
Hyundai has announced that its domestic sales have gone up by15.52% in the month of May. Hyundai Motor India has been the country's second largest carmaker. There has been a remarkable increase in the domestic sales of Hyundai cars and it has touched 27,151 units for the month of May, 2010.
The company had sold 23,503 units in May last year in the domestic market. This has been informed by Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) in a statement. However, the total sales for the month of May have increased 7.30%.
Gujarat NRE Coke quarterly net profit at Rs 1.3 crore
Gujarat NRE Coke has announced its fourth quarter financial results for the fiscal year 2009-10 and it has managed to post profit figure this time.
The company has posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 1.3 crore for the quarter that ended in 31st March, 2010.
The company has a net loss Rs 103 crore for the same quarter in the financial year 2008-09. This has been informed by Gujarat NRE Coke Ltd in a filing at the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Madras Cements net profit marginally down
Madras Cements has affirmed its annual financial results for the fiscal year 2009-10. It has been reported that the net profit of the company has gone marginally down.
The company has posted a net profit of Rs 353.68 crore for the year that ended in 31st March, 2010. The net profit of the firm was reported to be Rs 363.52 crore for last year.
The company has posted a higher operating profit before interest, depreciation and tax this year. It was found out be Rs 877.41 crore for the 2009-10 financial years. Last year it was reported to Rs 793.50 crore.
