One in ten are allergic to cats suffering from itching, sneezing and watering eyes, which may soon be a thing of the past as researchers are developing a vaccine for providing long-term protection against these symptoms.
Early trials have found the product to be safe, effective and longer lasting than current treatments that also have serious side-effects.
If, further trials of the vaccine prove successful, the scientists hope they will be able to develop similar products for millions suffering from hay fever and other allergies. However, experts warn this may prove more difficult.

Azad meets Sebelius to discuss health issues
On Friday for setting the dialogue on the India-US Health Initiative into motion, the Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad met US Secretary (Minister) for Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius.

US consumer data suggests mixed reaction for economy
It has been reported that there has been a huge drop in the US retail sales in the month of May. It was followed by a big jump in the month of June. The retail sales were down by 1.2% as compared to April. This was the first ever drop in last eight months but the economists have expected to have a hike of 0.4% in coming days.

This “innovative” morning after tablet, named Ella, is produced by HRA Pharma of Paris. The company expects to obtain Food and Drug organization authorization soon.
The contraceptive pill (Plan-B) is analogous to RU-486 because both of them are able to abort the pregnancy after defenseless intercourse.
Loose depression to lose belly fat
Noting a link between depression and belly fat, U.S. researchers have suggested that addressing abdominal fat in treating depression.

Workers at night shift always lack sleep
U.S. researchers have found that employees who start work between 8 p.m. and midnight had consistently poorer performance at work, probably due to a lack of sleep.
The study found workers' sleep lasted from 4.5 hours to 8 hours, depending on when the shift began, said lead author Angela Bowen, research assistant at the Sleep and Performance Research Center at Washington State University Spokane.
It was predicted by the study that the minimum on-the-job fatigue occurred when the shift started at 9 a.m., while maximum fatigue occurred when the work shift began at 11 p.m.
Oil Rig Failed to Conduct Regular Inspections, Records Uncover
The Government records have uncovered that federal inspectors failed to initiate nearly a 33% of the necessary inspections on the Deepwater Horizon rig in the 28 months, before it exploded and sank in the Gulf of Mexico.
MMS reports, including one released three weeks prior to the catastrophic April 20 explosion, suggest that the rig's blowout preventer was alright and was properly functioning.
