The wave of swine flu created trouble in 5 states
The wave of swine flu has trapped 5 states causing 366 people infected by H1N1 virus in the last one week. The more active states are four southern states and Maharashtra.
Among 4 southern states; the most affected state is Kerala confirming 222 cases of swine flu, Andhra Pradesh reporting 19 cases, Tamil Nadu reporting 22, Karnataka admitting 31 cases and Maharashtra remains another severely affected state confirming 72 cases.
Among the infected persons, 16 people have died due to this virus in the last week, reporting 10 from Kerala, 4 from Maharashtra and 2 from Andhra Pradesh.
A report by health ministry confirms that by the launch of first indigenous vaccine people of the country are in better position to deal with the disease and they also confirms that very soon three more vaccines will be launched.
Officials when asked about the spread of disease in southern part of the country and unpopularity of the vaccine replied that people are not aware of the facilities provided to them to fight against the threat.
The officials also said that vaccine is available in huge stocks but people are unaware of the availability and many people are not willing to take the vaccine also.
Apart from above specified states, Gujarat also reported 3 cases of swine flu and Uttar Pradesh also reported one case of swine flu last week.
In last two months, Delhi has reported 3 minor cases of swine flu and claimed to be almost swine flu city till date but it is expected that monsoon can create trouble in the city.
Recently an indigenous vaccine for swine flu has been launched by Zydus Cadila as India's first vaccine against Swine flu, but unfortunately people are not aware of the vaccine and even healthcare professionals are also doubtful about its benefits and propositions.
