M&M eyes aerospace biz
Indian conglomerate, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) is eyeing the growing aerospace business and that it plans to foray through an opening up of a 250-acre special economic zone (SEZ).
The company which is mostly into the automotive sector is now looking forward to build a 250- acre SEZ near the Bangalore International Airport. This project is going to be one of the public-private partnerships (PPP).
Talking about this, CEO, real estate sector, M&M, Anita Arjundas said that Mahindra Lifespaces is into the preliminary talks with the Karnataka government for its aerospace SEZ. He further added that Mahindra Lifespaces already has a long-time experience is setting up of such an infrastructure and that it is going to use it to the fullest.
Its pioneer project was setting up of Mahindra World City at Chennai and Jaipur, which are industrial development zones.
Mahindra group's, M&M entered into the aviation sector by taking over two Australian companies which were into the business of making aircraft. It also, just recently opened one of its manufacturing facility at Malur, which is situated at the outskirts of Bangalore.
