The Oberoi Group has announced that it is not going to sell its stake in EIH. ITC has recently raised its stake to 14.98 % in the EIH.

The Oberoi hotels and resorts chain are under the ownership of EIH. Amusingly, four out of the many Oberoi Group hotels have been ranked among the top 15 hotels around the globe, with the Vanyavilas Hotel in Ranthambhore being ranked as number one in the world by the ‘Travel Leisure’ magazine.

Mr. Oberoi revealed EIH’s expansion plans by saying that they are increasing their global capacity gradually and were planning to double their 3,000 rooms’ capacity to 6,000.

In the next 18 months, apart from a brand new hotel worth Rs. 300 crore being built in Morocco, a couple of more hotels, costing more than Rs. 650 crore are also coming up in Hyderabad.

The Oberoi hotels have gained immense international recognition, and the proof can be seen in that the Oberoi Vanyavilas (Ranthambhore) is being ranked 1st, Oberoi Amarvilas (Agra) 5th, Oberoi Rajvilas (Jaipur) 13th and Oberoi Udaivilas (Udaipur) 15th respectively in the world. They are also the best four in the continent.
