Five accused out on bail in Satyam case
Under the biggest fraud in the history of India inc., the Andhra Pradesh High Court recently granted bail to all the main five accused excluding Ramalinga Raju in the Satyam case.
It may be noted here out of the five people, Ramalinga Raju's brother and former managing director B. Rama Raju and former chief financial officer Vadlamani Srinivas have also been given granted bail.
Notably, the other people are also the former Satyam employees - G. Ramakrishna, vice-president (finance), D. Venkatapathi Raju, senior manager (finance), and Ch. Srisailam, assistant manager.
The decision was taken by Justice Raja Elango after hearing arguments by counsel for the five accused.
According to the arguments made, the advocates of the accused said that there was no need to keep them in custody as the investigations has been completed and charge-sheets have been filed.
While the Supreme Court granted bail to the PwC auditor Talluri Srinivas, Raju's another brother B. Surayanarayana Raju had obtained anticipatory bail last year.
The case of Satyam where Raju, the former founder of the company accepted the inflating of books in the company for many years has been considered as one of the biggest corporate frauds globally.
