Two Indian Movies Make It to the Venice Film Festival
Two Indian movies are reported to mark their presence at the 67th Venice Film Festival, which commences on September 1.
Mani Ratnam's 'Raavan' in Hindi and Anurag Kashyap's 'The Girl in Yellow Boots' are revealed to indulge in the competition slots.
Also, it has been reported that Raavan will be welcomed at the Festival along with a string of huge honor with Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory that would be given to the Filmmaker Award.
The Girl in Yellow Boots staring Kashyap's girlfriend, Kalki Koechlin, Naseeruddin Shah, Gulshan Devaiya, Shivkumar Subramaniam, Divya Jagdale, Kumud Mishra and Kartik Krishnan has been written by Kashyap and Koechlin.
Ratnam's movie has already marked its glitzy premier in India, however, the movie failed to win the hearts of the Indian viewers, as its results were disappointing at the box-office. Further, the movie could not even get good reviews.
Both the movie stars Abhishek Bachchan and wife Aishwarya Rai received criticism from the audience , as the viewers were shattered to see their below average performances.
The years 2009 and 2010 have been highly memorable for Kashyap, as it is his second time drive to Venice since last year, which witnessed his Dev D and Gulaal gain international recognition.
Besides, the Festival will also feature 79 world premieres, including Kashyap's work.
