Wal-Mart wants global expansion of its business
The CEO of the Wal-Mart, Mr. Mike Duke has informed his investors that the company is planning to re-position itself in the international level with a larger growth structure. World’s largest firm has planned to recruit about half million employees in coming five years.
But because of the debt crisis across the world the consumers are keeping a tight grip over their money hence the world’s largest retailer Wals-Mart is facing some problems in its business expansion.
Duke has told this to its shareholders in a meeting in University of Arkansas which is situated 30 miles far from the firm’s headquarter at Bentonville. The company has also unveiled a new stock buyback worth 1.5 billion dollar.
But the firm did not say anything about the improvement of its weak sales at the Wal-Mart stores in US. They have to think about it because the other companies of the same industry including its key competitor Target Corp has started to heat up its business in US market.
However, Wal-Mart has performed reasonably well at the time of great recession as well.
