Sonam Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor wanted to choose Imran Khan for the male lead in Aisha. But since he was shooting for 'I Hate Luv Storys' with Sonam Kapoor, he declined the role. This surprised everyone, including Anil Kapoor.

Sonam had also developed a great understanding with Imran while shooting for I Hate Luv Storys. She thought that Imran will be eager to work in her home production.

After Imran declined the role, it went to Abhay Deol. They feel that Imran may have been put off by the name of the movie. But they feel that Abhay is also the correct choice for this role.

Anil Kapoor admitted that not many heroes would be willing to act in a heroine-centric film. He claimed that he is very proud that his daughters have been able to manage Aisha without anyone's help.

Both Sonam and Rhea handled everything related to the movie. Now, they are also planning another 2-3 projects.

Anil Kapoor has also done heroine-centric films like Beta with Madhuri Dixit and Lamhe with Sridevi. One of his biggest hits, Mr. India had a central performance given by Sridevi. He argued that it is not easy for an actor to say yes to a heroin-centric movie.
