Aamir Khan’s upcoming home production that has hit the right chord with the audiences already with its earthy and realistic music is in news again. As Peepli Live has won the recognition for, Best First Feature Film at the 31st Durban International Film Festival, recently held in South Africa.

Not only this, the film also won lots of accolades for itself at the international jury at the gala that held from July 22-Aug 1.

The film that projects the serious issue of farmer’s suicide in a humorous manner has been directed by debutante Anusha Rizvi. The film also showcases the media hypes and the political issues related to such serious issues and the spins thereof.

The film that is slated for an all India release on Aug 13 has been distributed by UTV Motion Pictures. The film stars veteran actors like Raghubir Yadav, Omkar Das Manikpuri, Naseruddin Shah, Malaika Shenoy, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Shalini Vatsa, Farrukh Jaffer, Vishal O. Sharma, Aamir Bashir, Sitaram Panchal and Yugal Kishore.

This shall be the fourth film from the Aamir Khan’s stable after Lagaan: Once Upon A Time In India (2001), Taare Zameen Par (2007) and Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na (2008). Another film named “Dhobi Ghaat” is also up
