Even though, it has been two years since three movies on legendary singer-actor Kishore Kumar were announced in the media by UTV, Sudhir Mishra and Nagesh Kukunoor; there is no news yet about the start of these movies.

Kishore Kumar's son Amit Kumar has confirmed that while UTV will be making a movie on his father, he cannot comment about the other movies.

He admitted that the movie, which was earlier supposed to be directed by Shoojit Sarcar, will now be made by Anurag Basu. He stressed that he does not know anything else about the movie.

He revealed that Ranbir Kapoor will be playing the role of Kishore Kumar in the movie and the research for the film is currently going on. He told that he has provided some material to the director and the script for the film is yet to be written.

UTV also confirmed that the shooting for the film will take at least a year to start. They also confirmed that research work for the project has started already.

Shreyas Talpade who was supposed to play the role of Kishore Kumar in the movie directed by Nagesh Kukunoor pointed that he has not received any information from the director about the start of the film.

Despite all this, millions of fans of Kishore Kumar will once again enjoy his songs on the legendary singer's 81st birth anniversary.
