Saregama and Radio City Celebrate 81st Birthday of Kishore Kumar
August 4, marked the 81st birth anniversary of singing legend, Kishore Kumar. He is considered as the evergreen singer, who lives in the hearts of millions of people, even today.
Kishore Kumar, who is also known as Abhas Kumar Ganguly was born on Aug. 4, 1927 and rested in heaven on Oct. 13 1987. The legend excelled in his work, in all fields including singing, acting and directing. He ruled the big screen from 1950s to 1980s.
The memories of the legend were revived by India's leading entertainment Company Saregama, by launching a CD pack naming Kishore - Once More; of the songs of Kishore Kumar. For the same it has joined hands with Radio City 91.1FM.
P K Prasannan, Chief Manager-New Media, Saregama India Ltd. stated that the initiative to present Kishore Kumar’s songs in collaboration with the Radio City aims at celebrating his birthday with the whole country and to amuse his fans.
Rachna Kanwar, VP - Digital Media and New Business, Radio City said, "Kishore Kumar has been one of the greatest icons of Indian Cinema. He is a part of the cinematic folklore and has been a source of inspiration for countless singers - established and upcoming”.
A lot many wishes came his way as some of the leading names of the fraternity remembered him that included the versatile singer Asha Bhonsle and nightingale Lata Mangeshkar.
A VCD pack costing Rs. 499 'Best of Kishore Kumar' was also introduced by Shemaroo Entertainment on the birthday of Kishore Kumar.
