Director Vijay Singh Considering Shah Rukh Khan to Play Role of Awadh King
If everything goes as planned, Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan may act as an Awadh king in Director Vijay Singh’s next flick, The Opium Symphony will be based on the book Whirlpool of Shadows. Vijay Singh is a Paris-based director who earned laurels for his work on Jaya Ganga and One Dollar Curry.
He thinks that Shah Rukh will be the best actor to play the role of Nawab Naseeruddin Haidar in his third film as the actor has the previous experience of acting in a historic movie, Ashoka, as King Ashoka.
Singh said, “I had met Shah Rukh regarding the movie and he had liked the idea. I am planning to approach him again for the role of the Nawab. He ruled Awadh from 1826-36 and fell in love with a British girl but their love did not suit the interest of opium traders at that time”.
He is also looking for an actress to play the lead role against Shah Rukh. He might cast Britain-born Kartina Kaif as the leading lady of the movie.
He also stated that the mega-budget movie will be around Rs 60-70 crores.
