CWG 2010 welcomes Rahman’s ‘Swagatham’
Oscar winning, Music Director- A. R. Rahman has been roped to compose the theme song for Common wealth games 2010 Delhi. Today the music maestro presented the song to the Group of ministers. The theme song for the games is inspired from the energy and the winning spirit of the sportsmen.
Rahman commented during the unveiling of the song that he has put in a lot of effort for the composition of the theme song. He also mentioned that he wants people to sing along with the song. However he is still currently busy working on the smaller nuances of the song that shall be includes as the part of big celebrations. The music maestro also further commented that his composition will be an ode to Father of Nation- Mahatma Gandhi.
Rahman, will also perform at the Opening Ceremony of the Games on October 3. His accomplishments range from the Oscar Awards, Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score and the BAFTA Award for Best Film Music for his music in Slumdog Millionaire.
He also further commented about the negatives surrounding the CWG in the country. And he also urged media to portray a positive picture of India in front of the international audiences.
