‘Dabangg’ moves to court
The formulae to make a film a blockbuster on the box office is to dwell into a controversy before its release. As recently an NGO filed a petition against the upcoming flick starring Salman Khan.
The movie Dabangg that is produced by Arbaaz Khan was dragged to court for the derogatory use of the term "Hindustan". This word has been used in an item number in the movie featured on Malaika Arora Khan.
The petition filed in a civil court in Mumbai further mentioned that the objectionable word in the film should be taken off from the movie and then only censorship certificate movie should be granted to the film.
The movie that is slated to release on September 10 has an item number titled, “song Munni badnaam hui darling tere liye, baat yeh aam hui darling tere liye, leh hindustan hui darling tere liye.”
The NGO has further maintained that the producers of the movie should restrain the song in the promos and marketing of the film.
The NGO also asked that the producers should be restrained from using the song in promos and for marketing film's music. As the, usage of the word has hurt the patriotic sentiments of the people of the country. Moreover the depiction of a corrupt police officer dancing to the vulgar moves of an item number is highly objectionable.
However the hearing on the matter has been kept on August 30.
