iPhone OS enjoys three times more market share than Android
According to the recent reports released by the market research firm Nielsen, it is claimed that iPhone scores well above the Android players.
The reports further highlights that smartphone database has increased from 16 percent to 23 percent of overall mobile consumers over the years.
RIM remains the market leader with a massive 35 percent market share, but quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) the OS platform of the same has lost 2 percent share. Apple iPhone secures the second position with 28 percent, and also a strong 2 percent gain in QoQ. Microsoft's struggling Windows Mobile platform lost 2 percent to 19 percent, but retains its third place.
The much talked about Android platform grew 2 percent, as well, to 9 percent and continues to see strong growth since its launch in late 2008 which is a good news for all the Android users.
In terms of loyalty, Apple ranked iPhone users topped the list, with 80 percent saying their next phone would again be an iPhone. ON the second position were 70 percent of Android owners said their next phone would be an Android device again.
