Hyundai decides to resume work despite strike
While the production at the two factories of Hyundai had come to a halt since Sunday, the company decided to begin operations on Tuesday, as it was struggling to meet up with the rising demand of the Indian consumer.
Notably, after the police declared the strike to be illegal, more than 200 workers have been arrested and the company has announced that it will soon reach normalcy in its operations.
Moreover, it may be noted here that its been more than twice in less than a year that the second largest seller of passenger cars in the Indian market and the largest exporter of passenger cars, Hyundai Motors India have been facing labor issues in the domestic circuit.
Hyundai Motor India MD and CEO HW Park even said last month that the industrial relations are proving to be a headache for the company even after making several attempts to reach normalcy.
The plant in Chennai produces close to 2,200 units per day and is a vital part in the strategy of the company to produce the global compact car i10 and even the bigger sibling i20.
