On Wednesday (December 1) in Chennai a couple had filed for divorce before a family court. The couple was none other than actor Arvind Swamy and his wife Gayathri Ramamurthy.

There are rumors that the actor will pay Rs. 75 lakhs as divorce payment and in every month he have to pay 1 lakh for her monthly maintenance.

Their marriage lasted up to seven years and after having the mutual approval in May they appealed for the divorce in the family court.

After having their petition Principal Judge S Meenakshi Sundaram delayed the hearing for further actions to December 10

The couple, Arvind Swamy and Gayathri Ramamurthy was tied in the bond in the year 1994.

They have two children, Adhira Swamy who is of 14 and Rudra Swamy of 9. It is also confirmed that the children will be in Arvind's care. It is also decided that Arvind will bear the upcoming education of the child's.

Arvind Swamy has done many films of Maniratnam like Roja, Bombay.

However from the year 2003 their relationship broke and they lived separately.
