Anushka Sharma, not coming from a film background had a dream debut with Shahrukh Khan in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi under the Yash Raj Banner, followed it up again with an above average Parmeet Sethi directorial debut Badmash Company with Shahid Kapoor. Her third film again has been a Yash raj banner film, Band Baja Baraat opposite new comer Ranveer Singh.

When asked whether she had a 3 film deal with YRF, she denies it completely and straight away sites an example where she signed Nikhil Advani's Patiala House starring Akshay Kumar outside of the YRF banner. It was just that Band Baja Baraat was releasing before.

She is very excited about her upcoming film Band Baja Baraat where she plays a wedding planner along with new comer Ranveer Singh. She describes the film as a light comedy with the love story angle.

The film is based in Delhi. The film is expected to release on Dec 10, in the wedding season of Delhi. The film is also the first of its director Maneesh Sharma.

The protagonists are bitto and Shruti who are wedding planners and fall in love while they work together. She refers to the film as a `desi date flick'.
