Nordea bank disposes its BP shares because of the oil spill issue

The Nordic bank Nordea has sold its entire stake in BP and has accused the oil giant BP of lack of openness and transparency over the Gulf of Mexico oil spill issue.

The Nordic bank has said it had relieved at least ten million Euros which was spread across twenty funds.

Adding to that, the bank has said that it would not invest on BP until it receiving any further notice.

The shares of BP were one of the few gainers in the FTSE 100 Index of London this week but it has lost one third of its value since the disaster.

Nordea has said that seeing the present situation, it is too risky to invest on a company like BP.

On the other hand, BP has said that it had been very transparent, open and co-operative towards every aspect of its investors. BP is having a market capitalization of about 81 billion Euros in UK market and as compared to that; Nordea is a very small investor as per BP officials.
