Saina loses, India's challenge ends in World Badminton
Saina Nehwal, a rising player had a great chance to win the All England title. But unfortunately she could not make it. She lost her game in straight games to unseeded Japanese Eriko Hirose in the quarterfinals on Friday.
Saina lost the game by 21-11, 22-20. The match was played against Hirose, who on Saturday took the pride of becoming first Japanese to reach the final of the event since 1979.
However, Saina maintained her position in the second game but at last the Indian player fell short as Hirose was strong in the game and she held her nerves to tie up the final round.
The situation was same as Lin Dan, Chong Wei in the year 2009. Lin Dan of China, an winner of Four times ended the brave run of Marc Zwiebler to team a repeat of the 2009 final, he got victory against holder and world number one Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia.
In the first semi-final Lin successfully defeated the giant-killing German 21-9, 16-21, 21-11 while in the second one it was vice-versa Chong Wei beat China’s Chen Long 21-17, 21-13.
