Pritam Does It Again: Song from DMD Resembles Timbaland Track
Music Director Pritam is again under fire. The musician, who has composed beats for the upcoming flick Dum Maro Dum, has been criticized by the online communities for stealing the beats of a popular English track.
The song, Thayn Thayn, sung by Abhishek Baccchan is said to be having strong resemblance to a track from Timbaland, Give it to me.
The top stars like Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake are associated with the album, which was nominated for the Grammy award.
The composer, Pritam, who refuses to stop taking ‘inspiration’ from the foreign songs accentuated that the beats are his own creation and he has not copied them from anyone.
Echoing the same, the Director of the movie, Rohan Sippy, said that he himself decided on the beats along with the song writer Jaideep Sahni and music scorer Pritam.
He added that it is quite natural for songs to sound like each other as similar sounds are produced with different combinations.
He also added that people should listen to Hindi songs carefully and then they will realize that most of them sound quite like foreign tracks.
