Ranbir Kapoor to revive RK banner!
Production house, R. K. Films was started by the greatest showman of the Bollywood, Raj Kapoor. R. K. Studio has produced films like ‘Awaara’, ‘Aag’, ‘Shri 420’and many more. All these films are produced in late 40s and early
60s which is regarded as the Golden age of Bollywood. These films became the trendsetter for popular mainstream cinema in Bollywood. Other films featured in this age are ‘Pyaasa’, Mughal-e-Azam etc.
Randhir Kapoor was the first person to take control of the studio after the death of Raj Kapoor. After taking over the wheels of the studio he directed ‘Premgranth’.
Rishi Kapoor also tries his hands on reviving the studio by directing ‘Aa Ab Laut Chalen’ but the film fail so badly that it has forced RK banner to stop producing any more films and Rishi Kapoor also withdraw his hands from the revitalizing process for studio. The third one Rajeev Kapoor also failed to contribute in this cause.
And it is believed in the film industry that Ranbir Kapoor has the potential to carry his grandfather’s legacy.
The first successful venture under RK banner was ‘Barsaat’ and so the image where Nargis flows over the arms of Raj Kapoor, became the logo of the company.
