Prudential with fresh and new AIA takeover talks

Prudential has confirmed that it is going for a fresh round of discussions to renegotiate the previous deal to take over AIA. AIA is AIG's Asian business wing.

The UK insurer, Prudential has also announced that it has planned to take over the AIA for 35.5 billion dollar earlier in this year.

But later it has faced a backlash from its shareholders and has postponed it. Now the company is keen to have a deal with at a lower price to assure the investors.

As per Prudential, this deal is a way to enter in to the Asian markets. There has been news in some media that the insurer wants to quit all its business in UK and US and it is looking forward to concentrate only on fast growing Asian markets.

Prudential has also said that the discussion over this issue with AIG is on its way.

The insurer has cleared that the combination of AIA and Prudential is not going to change by this fresh discussion. It is expected to cut the price about 3.5 billion Euros from the previously calculated amount.
