Bollywood documentary at Cannes Film Festival
Documentary-production Bollywood, The Greatest Love Story Ever Told which is made by Shekhar Kapur will now be in the Hindi cinema. Further this will also have a competition section at this year’s Cannes Film Festival on May
14.
Shekhar has said that the documentary is a result of a conversation he had with Thierry Fremaux at Cannes last year. He said the international audience’s were having a fascination with Bollywood. But he was failure to find a film that he could show in the main section and for this reason he had made a film especially for Cannes.
The Documentary is of 81-minute which is directed by Director-producer Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and American documentary filmmaker Jeff Zimbalist. He is best known for his films Favela Rising and The Scribe of Urabá.
This Documentary is the most vilified and loved element of Indian films — the song and dance. Trishya Screwvala, UTV Motion Pictures is also the co-producer of it.
The directors will represent the most outstanding moments in the history of Indian musical films.
The Documentary film will also include inputs from actors and directors, namely Big B, Amitabh Bachchan, Dev Anand, Shammi Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Madhuri Dixit.
