Vodafone’s new offering targets Samsung Galaxy S

The pre-booking for Samsung Galaxy S 16GB mobile has commenced in UK from all Vodafone stores.

The smartphone that marks a debut this Tuesday stands against the likes of Apple's new iPhone 4 and is considered to be a strong contender.

This offering from Samsung runs on the latest Android 2.1 operating system, and sports a wide range of features that come in the form of 4-inch super-AMOLED screen and 1GHz processor.

The five-megapixel camera aids in recording High Definition videos. The camera comes with a 16GB memory that is expandable up to 32GB, with built-in GPS, 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The mobile carrier Vodafone offers the smartphone for free on a two-year contract, with monthly costs starting from £25 per month with 100 free minutes, 500 free texts and 1GB mobile internet allowance. This when upped to £35 per month avails 900 free minutes and unlimited SMS in addition to the usual 1GB data download limit.
