Twitter has been encountering various site problems since last week resulting in outages and meager performance. The micro-blogging site has, therefore, warned of probable breakdown, with the World Cup Football passion enthralling online users.

Jean-Paul Cozzatti, an engineer at the blogging site asserted: "As more people turn to Twitter to see what's happening in the world, you may still see the whale when there are unprecedented spikes in traffic”.

A whale emerges on the twitter site, whenever the site is down, usually along with a message requesting users to try after sometime.
