Voting Session Held for the Approval of Female Viagra
Next week, there will be a voting session by FDA (Food and Drug Administration) on whether the female libido enhancing drug Flibanserin, should be approved or not. If the drug will be approved then it will make a business of million dollars in US markets alone.
The FDA will vote on female Viagra, which in future could prove to be a boon to many females suffering from low sex drives across the globe, but it is still in a controversy that it is also associated with side effects.
The pill is made to treat a situation identified in an estimated 10% to 30% of women as hypoactive sexual need disorder or HSDD. "What we don’t know is what’s normal versus what’s not normal. You can’t label someone who has a low sex drive necessarily as abnormal", said Dr. Bruce Levine of Phoenix OBGYN Associates.
The pill has side effects including nausea, dizziness and insomnia. Now, women need to decide if they want to go for other treatment alternatives, which are worth for them or take the risk of pills, or not.
Critics are hammering the drug, as according to them, customers are being convinced to buy something they don’t need and that this problem they can solve by other economical methods.
