It is the Polo that has brought a lot of brand equity to the door of Volkswagen in the Indian market but the company is already planning a car below Polo in the Indian market.

Volkswagen Group's India Communication Head Kurt Rippholz said that the company has in mind something below than the Polo also and it is working on its plan.

However, the official refused to divulge any further details about the same but said that nothing has been finalized yet on the product.

The company works with a philosophy of conceptualizing the model first and then going for assessing the potential of the market for the same and hence the developments are still at very early stages. It may be noted here that the German automaker started manufacturing operations in India earlier this year at its Chakan plant, rolling out the compact car Polo.

As the hatchback from the company is still running on a 6-8 months waiting, it is believed that the company will ramp up its production in the coming times in the Indian market
