Anand Mahindra capable of replacing Keshub
One may label the current situation faced by the USD 7-billion-plus conglomerate Mahindra Group in the past few days as normal days for the company as the shares of the flagship company of Group M&M gained 4.5 per cent last week on the bourses even after the news of its Chairman Keshub Mahindra being sentenced by a Bhopal court for the Bhopal gas tragedy case made a lot of waves.
The analysts working closely with the conglomerate are of a view that the currently MD and Vice Chairman of the Group Anand Mahindra is very much capable of leading the group successfully through its turbulent times even after the absence of his uncle Keshub Mahindra.
Mr. Keshub Mahindra is still working as the Chairman of M&M. He was sentenced for two years as the non-executive chairman of Union Carbide, India for the tragedy that took away 20,000 lives 26 years ago.
CNI Research chairman and managing director K P Ostwal said that the company has been performing very well and Anand Mahindra is performing a very nice job at the top.
