Catherine Zeta-Jones has been appointed a CBE
In the Queen's Birthday Honors List, the film star Catherine Zeta Jones has appointed a CBE. The Oscar-winning star has been honored with actress Sophie Okonedo and actor John Nettles.
Both of them were honored with OBEs. The writer Ronald Harwood, winner of best adapted screenplay Oscar for "The Pianist" of 2003 has received a knighthood in this ceremony.
In their soap's 50th anniversary year Barbara Knox and Eileen Derbyshire gained MBEs for the "Veteran Coronation Street". Derbyshire who plays Emily Bishop made her debut in 1961 and the other actress Knox who plays Rita Sullivan has been regular since her debut in 1972.
The 76 years old actress Knox has said that she was absolutely delighted and shocked after getting the honor in the time of anniversary of their soap. Another actress Anne Reid who played a role of Ken Barlow's first wife Valerie in the show at the time of 1960s was also appointed an MBE. She is also well known for her roles in Victoria Wood sitcom Dinnerladies and nominated in a Bafta nomination for her role in "The Mother".
