The Auto major Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) recently said that the company will be launching a new sports utility vehicle (SUV) in the Indian market in a year's time.

Mahindra and Mahindra's Auto and Farm Equipment Sector's President, Pawan Goenka said that the company is currently planning to launch the model in the first quarter of the financial year of 2012 in the Indian market.

Goenka further pointed out the fact that the product is currently in the R&D stage and will be launched in the Indian market a segment above as compared to Scorpio in its portfolio. It may be noted here that apart from offering the Logan, the company also offers Xylo, which is pitched as a van, and multiple variants of the Bolero top the Indian consumer.

The company is planning to launch a new variant of Logan as well with the Mahindra badge.

According to the last announcement, the company will be launching the product by the early next year wherein it will be a new product for the Indian consumer after the company purchased the stake of Renault in the JV.
