Chief Minister: Kerala Govt. to Maintain Law and Order if Madani Gets Arrested by Police
On Wednesday, the Kerala Government said that it would take essential steps to sustain law and order lest PDP chief, Abdul Nasser Madani was seized by Karnataka police in relation with the 2008 Bangalore blast case.
Chief Minister, VS Achuthanandan was acting in response to a question on the likely protests by PDP advocates in the occurrence of detention of Madani, who is now at his home town Anwarserri in Kolam district.
Two PDP followers had attempted to immolate themselves on Tuesday disapproving the reported action of the Karnataka police to arrest Madani. However, their endeavor was unsuccessful following the interference of party employees.
Achuthanandan said that Home Minister, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan had already clear out Kerala Government's role on the subject.
Balakrishnan had asserted that the Government would provide support to Bangalore police, if they required Kerala police's aid for the arrest of Madani.
He had stated, "This is a case registered in Karnataka. If the police in that state seek the help of our police, we would extend it. This is something normal".
Madani was amongst the six people named in a supplementary chargesheet lodged by the Bangalore police last Friday in a court, taking the overall number of those accused in the Bangalore blast episode to 32. Twelve of them are missing.
