Desi swine flu vaccine has been launched

India has unveiled the first indigenous vaccine for H1N1 flu virus. The Union Health Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad has introduced the medicine to the Indian market. He has said that this has been a great success for the pharmaceutical industry of the country to come up with the desi vaccine for the dangerous swine flu.

Moreover this vaccine will be easily available and its cost is reasonable. The vaccine is known as Vaxiflu-S and its cost is Rs. 350. It has been created from an H1N1 strain afforded by WHO.

This influenza has started in US and Mexico and more than 18,000 people all across the globe have lost their lives due to this disease. It has affected near about 214 countries in the world. India has been badly affected by H1N1 flu as well.

Over 1,500 people in India have lost their lives to this epidemic. With the introduction of this vaccine, the health minister has said that it has been a remarkable achievement for the nation to come up with its own influenza vaccine.
