AT&T to spend over $ 1 billion on network enhancement in India

Leading telecom firm AT&T has disclosed its future investment plans. The company has informed that it is going to invest around $ 1 billion in some of leading and emerging markets. This amount will be utilized in network enhancement of the company.

India is also in the list of the company. This has been informed by the Chairman of AT&T Global Network Services India Pvt. Ltd, Mr. V.S. Gopi Gopinath. He has informed this while he was being interviewed by a media.

He has informed that the company is looking forward to invest around US$1 billion investment in 2010.

The basic focus will be network capabilities and applications for businesses. India will also be a part of the global capital plan of the company. He has also said that the company had spend around US$4 billion since 2006 in business-focused network, systems and applications for the business.

According to Gopinath, the telecom industry of India is quite promising and the company will consider this emerging market rather carefully.
