Maruti to launch CNG WagonR soon
While the company had to stop the sales of the duo version of WagonR after it launched the new model in the 13 major cities in India but Maruti Suzuki India plans to introduce a CNG variant of the hatchback within the next three months.
It is believed that the model will be Rs. 70,000 expensive than the existing model in its portfolio. It has been learned that the company is working on at least five models across different segments to launch the CNG variants.
A source familiar with the situation said that the company will be launching these models in the next quarter.
Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) Managing Executive Officer (Engineering) I V Rao said that the company has been working on the CNG technology for the past two years and it had also shown the technology at the 10th auto expo.
However, Rao declined to confirm any time frame for the launch of such model. It may be noted here that the company recently launched the new generation WagonR, priced between Rs 3.28 lakh and Rs 3.81 lakh in the Indian market.
