US Senator to Visit India to Strengthen Ties

Submitted by Jyanendra Nath on Thu, 06/24/2010 - 12:01

It has been reported that a top US Senator is all set to visit India in the following month in an effort to strengthen the Indo-US ties right before the forthcoming visit of President Barack Obama, which is scheduled to take place in the month of November.

The co - chair of the Senate India Caucus, Senator Christopher Dodd, is to travel to the country in the month of July to meet a lot of top officials and of course, many political leaders and it is being speculated that he would also meet the Prime Minister of the country Dr. Manmohan Singh.

Dodd had mentioned in his letter to the Prime Minister that he was very much looking forward to his upcoming visit to New Delhi, Jaipur and Mumbai and also, that he was going to continue working on strengthening the already strong ties between the two countries by advancing the friendship to the next level.

This visit before the visit of the President Barack Obama shows the level of commitment that Dodd puts forwards towards the deepening of the ties between India and the US.
