Honor Killing Accused Sent to Police Custody
A New Delhi court has sent the three main suspects of the recent case of honor killing for five days of police custody. They have been held under the charges of murdering a couple and a woman in an honor saving attempt.
Metropolitan Magistrate, Satish Kumar, delivered the verdict after the three suspects Mandeep Nagar, Nakul Khari and Ankit Chaudhury appeared in the court today.
The key suspects were sent for the supervision of the Delhi Police until July 1.
On Friday, the court had released warrants against the three men, who had been booked in Garh Mukteshwar, a place 90 km from Ghaziabad on Thursday.
All the three are Wazirpur village residents. They were away from the village since the day of revelation.
According to police, the alleged killers have admitted that they killed Monica, her husband Kuldeep and Shobha, her cousin.
Gajraj Singh, counsel for the alleged offenders, have been urging the suspension of the Police officials’ remand orders. They argued that the three men are innocent.
“This case is based on circumstantial evidence and we will prove their innocence at the right stage", he said.
He added that the three men had gone out for a holiday.
