Average American Consuming More Salt Than NeededHealth news that came out might astonish a majority of people in the United States of America.

Even people, who think that they have been on the safer side and judiciously following healthy diet plan, may want to places some attention to the novel findings of a report brought by the U. S. Centers Disease Control and Prevention.

The study has been able to find that 90% American adults consume more amount of salt than what they should be in actuality.

The report was published on June 25, 2010 in an issue of ‘Morbidity and Mortality Weekly’.

As per the report, the offender is the highly processed food items that are consumed by people.

In some cases, a lot of people consume double the amount of recommended level. A majority of experts are of the opinion that people should almost immediately lessen the intake of sodium.

It is significant for people of all backgrounds to restrict sodium intake as it can have unfavorable effects on health. The CDC has made a note that diets that are high in salt can cause high blood pressure, can contribute to stroke, heart disease, heart failure and a lot of other health troubles for those, who do not take care.
