Andrew Strauss very pleased with his bowlers in the win over Australia

Submitted by Jyanendra Nath on Sun, 06/27/2010 - 12:28

English skipper Andrew Strauss is very impressed with the performance of his bowlers, specially the efforts from Stuart Broad who was rested in the test series against Bangladesh. The skipper has said that the bowlers played a big role to take the side to 2-0 lead in the series over the Australians.

The Australians started their innings in a terrific manner with 21 for no loss in just two overs but then the seam bowlers put break on them. Eventually the Aussies have managed to score only 239-7.

Strauss has said that they got off to a quick start but our bowlers made a very strong come back and after that dragged them to the score of 239 in total 50 overs. The English bowlers have managed to take four wickets pretty early in the innings and forced the Aussies on the back foot again. Stuart Broad took four wickets to damage the batting line up of the Australians. When a new batsman comes in to bat, bowlers have an opportunity to create pressure on them and the English bowlers did just the same in the second ODI.
