Olive oil fights diabetes
Diabetes is quite a common term now–a-days. Many families have a diabetic patient and India has been marked as Diabetes capital of the world. This strongly reflects our poor health care attitude in our daily lives. The imbalanced dietary routine, reach and preserved food culture and lethargic life style are some of the most common contributing factors to make ourselves prone to the deadly Diabetes.
Diabetes is a disorder of the metabolism disabling the body to use digested food for growth and energy. When the type-1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease, the type-2 is the most common form of Diabetes caused due to age, obesity, physical inactivity, and family history of diabetes. Type-1 is least preventive but type-2 is largely preventive. Unchecked diabetes can have long-term complications that affect almost all parts of the body leading to cardiovascular disease, stroke, kidney failure, blindness and neuropathy and foot ailments.
As far as diet is concerned, use of Olive oil is healthy because it is rich in antioxidants such as vitamins and iron and contains mono-unsaturated fats that stimulate secretion of insulin lowering diabetic probability.
