MP CM Disappointed with PM’s Way of Handling Anderson Case
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said that he was not very happy with the way Prime Minister Manmohan Singh tackled Anderson’s case.
He should have discussed the extradition of ex- Union Carbide Chief, Warren Anderson and reimbursement for Bhopal Gas tragedy fatalities with US President Barack Obama.
It was anticipated that the Prime Minister would have discussions regarding the Bhopal Gas Tragedy with Obama but it was not done the way it should have, Chouhan told reporters here.
Singh had met Obama on the sidelines of the G-20 Summit in Toronto.
Chouhan said it was inadequate for the Prime Minister to pronounce that attempts would be made for the expulsion of Anderson.
The Chief Minister in addition to that said that he wanted to question the PM that when and how the case will be taken up to the American President so that something materializes out of the issue and the victims get some mental relief.
The 89-year-old ex- Union Carbide Chief was declared a deserter in the case by a court here.
Chouhan said he had written a memo to the Prime Minister to draw his attention to incongruities in the advices made by the Group of Ministers on the Gas disaster.
