Pachecho Denied Anticipatory Bail
Former Goa Tourism Minister, Mickky Pacheco’s appeal was rejected by the Supreme Court on Monday. The former Minister was seeking an anticipatory bail in relation with the death of Nadia Torrado.
She 28- year- old was his alleged lover. On May 30 Nadia lost her life in a hospital in Chennai where she was admitted after consuming poison.
Justice R.M. Lodha, who headed the vacation bench of the Supreme Court, revealed that no action can be undertaken up till custodial examination of Pacheco is completed.
An interim bail was given to Lyndon Monteiro, who was Pacheco’s aide. The court also revealed that that Pacheco was a powerful political leader and the post-mortem report of the victim had indicated that she had 13-14 bruise marks on different parts of her body.
Pachecho has been accused of culpable homicide while his accomplice Monteiro has been charged with destruction of evidence.
The former ministers bail petition was rejected because his advocate had not brought the proof of the fact that there had been a withdrawal of his anticipatory bail petition from the high court on a former occasion where he was ordered to remain present personally.
