Maoist Leader Azad's Funeral to be Held in Hyderabad
Police have said that the body of top Maoist leader, Cherukuri Rajkumar will be brought to Hyderabad for the last rituals. The police have allegedly killed the leader in a gun battle in the forests near Jogapur in Adilabad district.
Rajkumar, also known as Azad, was the second in the CPI-M hierarchy. He was also the Spokesperson of the party.
The dead body of the leader will be given to the family members in Hyderabad. The funeral will be performed on Sunday.
The autopsy was carried out on the body of Azad and Sahadev by a team of forensic experts. This autopsy was conducted in the Government Hospital in Manchriyal, in Adialbad District.
"I did not see my son for more than 30 years and when I finally saw him he was not alive", said inconsolable Karuna, Azad's mother.
The leader's mother and brother saw the body before the autopsy as per the order given by the high court. No other party leader was allowed to see the body.
Media people along with other leaders opposed this rule of not permitting anyone to enter the hospital.
The Maoists have alleged that Azad was killed cold bloodedly after his arrest in Maharashtra.
