Auto industry welcomes to the free pricing policy
While the recently, announced fuel hike is expected to take its own toll from the consumers and auto industry as well in the short run but the senior officials in the automobile sphere have welcomed the idea of free pricing in the industry.
Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) President Pawan Goenka said in a statement that the policy of linking the fuel price to the free market is a right approach to follow for the rapidly growing Indian market.
Tata motors to set up an assembly unit in SA
The country's largest home-grown auto major, Tata Motors has recently announced the fact that the company is working on setting up a trucks assembly unit in South Africa. Notably, the company is planning to open the unit by the end of the current financial year and the company is looking at assembling medium-sized and small trucks there for now.
Mahindra to Now Manufacture Aircraft Components
It has been reported that the automotive and infrastructure Company Mahindra and Mahindra, would now produce aircraft parts.
The Company has decided to invest a whopping amount of Rs. 250 crore in the project. The Company Spokesperson said that there were very rare chances of any problem to come in their way.
The Company’s financial position is strong enough to face any kind of crisis. They will spend Rs. 150 crore in the manufacturing sector and another Rs. 100 crore in assembling the parts.
Volkswagen to introduce its smaller car in India soon
Looking at the huge potential that the fast growing compact car segment offers in India, German automaker, Volkswagen has decided that it will come up with its small cars in India soon.
These cars, said the company, will be smaller than Polo and will be made to tap the market for Volkswagen Polo, Beetle and Golf.
Talking to media, the Head of Communications in India, Kurt Rippholz said that the company is seriously thinking of coming up with something smaller that Polo and that they are working on it.
But, he further added, that nothing has been finalized as of yet.
Suzuki gets more aggressive
Though, the company has not been able to gain much ground in the Indian market as compared to players like that paved its way into the domestic circuit around the same time, but Suzuki is now getting aggressive and is looking at increasing its investments by nearly 50% and double production capacity and product portfolio over the next 18 months.
Hero Motors may enter into superbikes
It has been just been days that the four-way separation of the Munjal family business happened but Pankaj Munjal nephew of the patriarch Brijmohan Lall Munjal is weighing options of rolling out motorcycles in the Indian market. Notably, Hero Motors, the company that it managed by Pankaj Munjal is talking to global superbike makers including Harley Davidson to roll out products in the superbike category in the Indian market.
The dragon eying India
There is no denying that the Chinese automotive market is one of the fastest growing markets in the world but the Chinese automobile and component manufacturers are queuing up to drive into the Indian market. In fact, many of them are using the Indian market with a view to set destination as their low-cost export base.
It may be noted here that almost 90% of the cars that are being produced in the Chinese market are sold on the dragon land and hence there is very little space for the Chinese players to fulfill their exports dreams.
Anand Mahindra capable of replacing Keshub

Tata Motors increasing production of products on Ace Platform

M&M eying the small car segment
After staying in its core shell of the UV space, M&M made its way into the other segment in the passenger car industry by Logan joining hands with Renault.
While the partnership may not have worked for both the parties but as the giant has acquired the stake of Renault in the JV, it is believed that the company is working on its plan to launch a new product in the segment with a new name under the Mahindra badge.
M&M planning a new variant of Xylo
It has been just a few days that the conglomerate M&M got its hands over the largest electric carmaker in the world, Reva Electric Car Company but the company has shown that it is by no means taking the Indian market with a loosened up focus.
Notably, the president, auto & farm equipments, Mahindra & Mahindra, Pawan Goenka has recently said that the company will be launching the face lifted Xylo soon in the Indian market. It is believed that the company will be launching the new variant of the MPV in the coming few months in this year.
Volkswagen planning a smaller car than Polo
It is the Polo that has brought a lot of brand equity to the door of Volkswagen in the Indian market but the company is already planning a car below Polo in the Indian market.
Volkswagen Group's India Communication Head Kurt Rippholz said that the company has in mind something below than the Polo also and it is working on its plan.
However, the official refused to divulge any further details about the same but said that nothing has been finalized yet on the product.
Electric scooters all set for a fly
It may have taken more than nine years for the Stanford Graduate Chetan Maini to sell close to 3,500 units of the Reva in the Indian market before the entrepreneur sold a majority stake of the company to the conglomerate M&M, but it is widely believed that the electric two-wheelers are set for a drive on a highway in times to come.
Eicher Motors roaring high!
This Friday Eicher Motors roared back high on its heels as the news of its joint venture with Volvo, VE Commercial Vehicles, pumping its capacity to help it become the largest engine manufacturer for the commercial vehicles in the country, hitting the market. The stock geared up for an elevation of Rs 956.
The uptrend has the targets of reaching Rs 824 and Rs 1,016. The stock has slithered past its first round of target on Friday and moving ahead for its next target provided the uptrend could sustain its balance made.
Mitsubishi’s Lancer Soon to be Launched in India
Mitsubishi is all geared up to release its Evo X in India in July. A complete built unit of Lancer Evolution X FQ-400 will be imported to India. Mitsubishi aims to sell approximately 100 units of Lancer Evo X.
The Company is also working for modifications in its current models in India. Seeing the growing trend of luxury cars in India, Mitsubishi has decided to launch the car in Indian market.
